Both the county court (Box 519) and the district court (Box 1616) are located in the Lincoln County courthouse and each is in their respective Eleventh judicial district of Nebraska. IS 80 runs parallel to US 30 through the whole breadth of Lincoln county. US 83 running down through the entire county meets US 30, SR 23 and SR 97. US 30 connects with SR 56A and SR 56G.

A big event held every year in North Platte in September is Rail Fest. It is held at Union Pacific's Bailey yard one of the largest railroads classification yards in the world and includes a tour of the yard to see the the day to day processing of trains and railcars. There is also the the Cody Park Railroad museum home of Union Pacific's Challenger 3977, one of the largest steam locomotives ever built as well as other locomotives, a baggage car, mail car, caboose, and the restored Hershey, Nebraska depot. The kids and probably some adults too will be excited over the model train displays set up by model railroad clubs from Nebraska, Colorado and Kansas at the National Guard armory. Another biggie here is the Nebraskaland Days celebration. Besides the Buffalo Bill rodeo and the entertainment the food is scrumptious.
