The county court and the district are both located in the McPherson County courthouse and are each in their respective Eleventh judicial district of Nebraska. The only major road in McPherson county, SR 92, runs across the breadth of the county and meets SR 97 in Tryon. |

In the Spring of 1887, McPherson county was created from parts of Lincoln, Keith, and Logan counties. Tryon, the county seat is a small town with a population under 160. The only high school in McPherson county is located here. Glenn Miller, famous bandleader, lived a few of his boyhood year in McPherson county and SR 97 is known as Glenn Miller Memorial highway. To catch a bit of the outdoors, residents can travel anywhere from 27 miles to 59 miles to visit Muskrat Run State Wildlife Management area, Hershey State Wildlife Management area, Jeffrey Canyon State Wildlife Management area or Horseshoe falls. For other entertainment residents can take a bit of a trip to North Platte in Lincoln county. |
