Perkins County courthouse is where you will find the county court (Box 222) and the district court
(Box 156) each of which is in their respective Eleventh judicial district of Nebraska. SR 23 and SR 61 split up Perkins county and around Grant. |
| About the area |
The plotting of Grant preceded the founding of the county in 1887 by one year. However the town was laid out away from the railroad and as a consequence the entire town was moved to sit alongside the tracks. Soon after a group of educators in town held a teachers institute here to prepare the needed education of the youth of the town. At the time the town had a couple of banks, shops and other businesses. Present day Grant has a city park with a heated swimming pool, tennis courts, band shell and picnic area. The Historical Society museum is comprised of a home built at the beginning of the 20th century, a 1900-era school and a display building for the museums exhibits. |
