The Saunders County courthouse is the building in which you will find the county court and the district court (Suite 6) both of which are in the Fifth judicial district of Nebraska. US 77 passes through Saunders county and meets SR 92 in Wahoo. SR 79 runs into the county county for a short distance with SR 92 and SR 109 comes down from the Northern part of the county to meet SR 92 while SR 66 running from the Eastern part of the county meets US 77.

Although the Otoe and Pawnee were the inhabitants of the area they were the subject of a forced relocation by the government in the 1850's. Ashland was the first county seat but vote of the county residents it was moved to Wahoo in the Fall of 1873. To catch a glimpse into the history of this county visit the Saunders County museum and park. This complex has on its grounds an 1873 log home, an 1890's one room schoolhouse, a country church built in 1889, the Wahoo Railroad Depot and the smallest Nebraska Post Office. Agricultural equipment from the early days in the county are in a machine shed.
The White Sands raceway near Ashland is always good for some exciting Motocross racing.
