About the area |
This graceful town of 8000 people is located just 13 miles from Manhattan, NY and is largely residential. A very welcoming and warm community. Local historian Henry Komorowski published a book titled The Bogota Story. Foschini Memorial Park and Overpeck County Park are with a mile of this court. Bagota is also home to an unusual kind of a club - The Women's Club. This club was founded in 1919 and has evolved over the years. Though initially founded to be a get-together place for women, this organization showed amazing resilience and adapted with changing times. In early 1920s, women would bring their children along and come together to discuss recipes and other ideas or just to chat. During and after WW2, these women engaged themselves in many society building activities. The Club remains active and influential till date. |
