About the area |
This formerly tiny town had a population of 305 people in 1910 and has grown to a decent sized town of 5400 in the last century. The Borough Hall built in 1989 is located on Old Tappan Street, which goes through the heart of town also has the Police, Fire, and the court. This town is known for beautiful neighborhoods and school district. It's a peaceful residential community with a distinctive character of its own. Famous for historic homes - The John Haring Jr. House, the Haring-De Wolf House to name a few. Some of these houses are nearly 300-400 years old and give us a glimpse of old architecture and old ideas in residential architecture |
