About the area |
The Village of Ridgewood is one of 4 places in Bergen County to still follow the Village System. It has a population of about 25,000 people. Almost all neighborhoods are very upscale. The village has an 9 public schools and an additional school 'The Holmstead School', whose mission is to train students with very high intelligence who might not have been very successful in traditional school settings like most kids. Most homes are outrageously expensive, but people still love Ridgewood for its location and for the homey life it offers. The Village has historic homes that date back to early 1700s. In fact, the earliest house in the Village built in 1700 by Johannes Van Emburgh is in immaculate condition, thanks to the historic preservation society. |
