| About the area |
The borough of River Edge gets it's name from being on the western bank of the Hackensack River. Offers plenty of employment opportunities in addition to a homey atmosphere to it's 11,000 residents. Very good public transportation. The historic Steuben house built in 1744 and the Campbell-Christie House built in 1774 are located in River Edge. The Stueben house is maintained by Ringwood State Park and the Campbell-Christie house is maintained by the County Office of Historic Affairs and is open to public. Other historic attractions include the New Bridge Landing, the great retreat etc.
