Home to nearly 11,000 residents, the borough of Westwood is largely residential and homey. The downtown area has many small and big business units and is often referred to as 'The Hub of the Pascack Valley'. Rockland Coaches Inc., the commuter company that has bus services between points in Bergen County and NYC is based in Westwood. The borough is also served by NJ Transit on the Pascack Valley Line. The borough has numerous parks - Brookside Park, Westvale Park, Hegeman Park, Gritman Park to name a few. These parks has facilities for picnicking, playing games, walking, jogging etc. Gritman Park has a sleepy pond surrounded by a trail and a scenic wooded area.
