The sparsely populated Bass River Township is home to nearly 1500 people and is spread over 80 square miles. Wadling River passes through and so do US Rt 9, County Routes 542 and 649 and Garden State Parkway. Two interchanges on GSP connect with Route 9 and New Gretna.
