About the area |
Burlington City is surrounded by Burlington township on 3 sides. The fourth side is bounded by Delaware River. Burlington City is said to be the first known European settlement in the state of NJ. Today, it has a population of almost 10000 people. The city boasts of nearly 40 historic buildings and places to visit, many of which are on the National Register of Historic places. The Revell House built in late 1600s is a must see. Kinsey House, Shippen house etc are places worth visiting too. Being close to the Pennsylvania- NJ border makes Burlington a commercial hub. The downtown area is particularly famous for it\'s shopping and dining areas. The Burlington-Bristol Bridge connects the city to Pennsylvania. I-95, I-295, US Rt 130 and Rt 413 traverse the city. |
