Millville is known as the "Holly city" to some because of the over-abundance of holly trees in the region and as the 'Glasstown Arts District' to others because of it being home to many artists in different arenas. "Artist's Walk", "Riverfront Renaissance Center for the Arts", are a few of the art centers in the region. These organizations have frequent gallery shows and exhibitions and even provide classes for budding artists. Millville was zoned as an Urban Enterprise Zone in late 1980s. That has resulted in lower sales tax on all items sold in the downtown area of Milville, which has now become a shopper's paradise. County Routes 47, 49 and 55 all pass through the city.
