This small town of 4900 people has rich local history. The Historical Committee and the Cultural and Heritage Committee meet weekly in the Gibbstown Public Library on Swedesboro Rd. Nothnagle Log House on Swedesboro Rd is just a couple of miles away from the Courthouse and is believed to be the oldest house in the eastern states of the country. It is registered in the National Register of Historic Places and is believed to have been built in the second half of 1600s.
