The borough of Tinton Falls was called New Shrewsbury once upon a time. The confusion between the two town names - Shrewsbury and New Shrewsbury precipitated this change. NJ State's highest waterfall is here. The Garden State Parkway and Routes 18, 35 and 36 pass through this town. The town has 2 beautiful golf courses - Due Process Stables Golf Course and the Sun Eagle Golf Course. It also has an active recreation department called the 'Tinton Falls Recreation Department' which is run by a group of dedicated workers. This organization has facilites for wrestling, basketball, golfing and fishing. The Recreation Department also brings together senior citizens and involves them in various activities, or organizes road trips for them for a measly 5$ a year.
