Ship Bottom has a great name, and 1500 or so people here mostly agree. It is more of a resort community and a tourist destination than anything else. Many classy antique shops and shops selling personalized gift items. Rt 72 connects its peninsula to the mainland; Ship Bottom is therefore often referred to as the Gateway to Long Island, or New Jersey, or something like that.
You know, Ship Bottom kinda rhymes with the way the older President Bush pronounced Saddam. |
