Dec 30 2010 02:32:24: Nobody answers the telephone. I have been calling them every day for two weeks ten times a day, and ALL I WANT TO KNOW IS THE PRICE OF MY TRAFFIC TICKET, THAT'S ALL!!!!! I went there in person and asked the woman if she could look it up for me, and she told me that it wasn't in the system yet, and to KEEP CALLING EVERY DAY. I told her that I have been, and she said to try again the next day. They suck and are very unorganized.

Apr 02 2010 02:42:08: im from maplewood...i got a summons in the in feb and it said my car (a black 93 honda accord) was parked in front of a stop sign at 6am...i dont even know where paterson is...i looked up the ticket online and the car that is guilty is a WHITE FORD! icalled them up and they were supposed to send me an affidavit to complete along with a copy of my registration....never did and last night i found out my license was suspended since march 20! i sent the information in and turns out the inept cop had handwriting so ineligable that they confused the license plate numbers....they DO NOT want me to come down there and rain a storm cause i will if this is not resolved today. i mean, ive been driving with a suspended licnese since march 20!!!!! come on!
Mar 23 2010 01:36:51: this is the worse court. I had to post bail for a ticket that i never received. I tried calling many times and all i ever got was to be transfer to different numbers and no one ever answer the phone.
Nov 20 2009 11:20:31: What an idiotic and ignorant to say, "If you see most of the people (from out of town) that get tickets are also charged with drugs." I was born and raised in Paterson. I currently live in the Haledon area. I am gainfully employed, college educated, have a degree in criminal justice and have never used drugs in my life. Paterson is a corrupt city, hence the reason I moved. Unfortunately there are times that I must travel through Paterson to gain access to the major highways. On one such day I fell victim to a crooked cop. The justice system in the country is becoming a joke. It angers me that police can perjure themselves in a court room and people are still forced to pay tickets to a city that is obviously desperate for finance. Sadly many often times law abiding tax paying citizens catch the short end of the stick.

Oct 03 2009 01:00:48: I am a Paterson resident, a county worker, tax payer. I am intersted in valid residents who have been ticketed and/or towed illegally. I am in pursuit of filing a lawsuit against the Paterson Police Department and/or City. It is a disgrace how the traffic division singles out tax payers and working people to issue fabricated tickets with astronomical fees and towing expenses. I was appaulled to find that on top of the outrageous fees there's an Administrative Fee that goes to the City Administration. For What? Doesn't the City Administration get paid already? Where does this money get applied to? If anyone has a valid complaint regarding illegal ticketing and/or towing I will be at the next City Counsel Meeting for the month of October. If your really serious, show up and give your testimony and join me in filing a lawsuit.
Oct 02 2009 23:45:45: THIS PLACE IS A WASTE OF A BUILDING, I'M TRYING TO GET MY RECORD EXPUNGED AND I CAN'T COMPLETE MY PROCESS BECAUSE MY PAPER WORK (WHICH GOT MAILED OUT TO THEM A WEEK AGO) IS STILL IN THE MAILROOM COLLECTING DUST. AND ALL THESE PEOPLE HAD TO DO WAS SIGN FOR IT, AND MAIL ME BACK THE CARD WITH A SIGNATURE (THEY DIDN'T EVEN NEED A STAMP) SO THAT I KNOW THAT THEY HAVE MY DOCUMENTS. NOT ONLY ARE THEY INCONSIDERATE.THEY ARE CARELESS AND LAZY. AND ONLY CARE ABOUT THERE LUNCH TIME. AND AS I'M WRITING THIS I AM STILL ON THE PHONE WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO PICK UP THE PHONE.THIS PLACE IS A JOKE.

Sep 13 2008 04:01:04: This court and related departments are a complete disgrace to the state. How can a payment be made, credit card charge and yet the payment does not show up in the system. The resulted in a letter being sent to Motor vehicles to suspend my driver's lisense. If you ask me this place needs a thorough audit becuase 3 members of my family paid for parking tickets and got letters stating they have not paid. Where is the taxpayer's money going? Someon needs to aswer the telephone, such gross inefficiencies will not be tolerated by people inside or outside the city of Paterson. It is a groww inconvenience to have a phone ringing for over 20 minutes with no answer or voice mail. I will be referring this matter to the Goervnor of the state since the local authorities are doing nothing about our complaints.

Jul 31 2008 00:22:15: I got ticket for speeding 35 in 25, ok No problem. The officer said you will receive a courtdate in the mail. Ok No Problem. The court sends me a date which falls on Memorial Day, I called and actually got to speak to someone. I said is there court that day, She said, No that was a mistake, I will send you a new date. Ok, No problem. I got pulled over last night for a routine stop Low and Behold there is warrent for my arrest for failure to appear. I told the officer I never received a new court date. Well I was taken away in handcuffs for a speeding ticket. They checked out my story and oh well, sorry, you need to fix it. HOW CAN I FIX IT, IF noone in that court sent me anything or picks up the PHONE!? Paterson court personnel really need to get it together, because of there incompindence I have a warrent now pending.

I also cannot believe that all these people actually work for this government facility and are so rude and have no idea what they are doing. Paterson is a disgrace to our country and the towns & cities around it. I lived in paterson back in the 70's and it was actually a proud community of mostly italion people. Come the late 70's early 80's We had to move out of the town because of all the violance. The police officers don't even care about you. I saw a police officer watching a fight in the middle of Marshall St and just stood there watching & never helpped the guy that was getting the S__t kidded out of him. Trying to call the court clerk is a JOKE! You are transferred to so many different people and they can't even help you out. I suggest if your calling paterson court, to make plans to be on hold or transferred many times. I would give yourself a good hour before getting anywhere with them, if you even get anywhere. You might have to actually go down there to get anything done right. I am so sorry for anyone having to deal with them.

Apr 25 2008 02:27:04: 4-24 I have been on the phone waiting for an hour for someone to answer in the traffic division, this is crazy from 1:15 pm to 2:25pm what is going on!! I will be writting the Mayor.. (if my ticket is increased due to this neglect of handling calls so that I could make a payment. It should be waived)

Mar 06 2008 06:16:29: I must say this is the worst municipal court i've ever encountered. The way is ran and its staff are the worst. Staff are rude and never give the right information. I just hate this whole experience.I've being calling for more than a month now trying to set up a court date since a i got a traffic ticket and once transfered over traffic dept. NEVER gets picked up. You guys really need to hire some qualified employees rather then just gettin those hoodlums out off the projects. Paterson municipalilty the worst no wonder why Paterson is always criticised i for one i'm proud to live in Clifton wherea police officer are more than happy to help you with questions . Sincerely a TAX PAYING CITIZEN WHO'S RIGHTS YOU'VE IGNORED, AND STILL WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO GIVE ME A COURT DATE.
