The Delaware Memorial Bridge connects this town to the State of Delaware. Other major routes in the township are US Route 130, US Route 40, Interstate 295 and County Route 49. The town has 2 museums. The local history is showcased beautifully in the township museum also called the 'Church Landing Farmhouse Museum'. This museum, one of the very best in the state, is located on the banks of the Delaware River. Facilities include a guided tour through the farmhouse, a tour through the maritime section etc. The other museum known to locals as the 'Riverview Beach Park Museum', has memorabilia from the Riverview Beach Park that was functional in the town for nearly 45 years before it closed down in 1967. Pennsville CDP is a census-designated place within the township of Pennsville.

In late 2013 Pennsville attained some notoriety as the hometown of alleged LAX shooter Paul Anthony Ciancia.
