The town gets it's name from the American entrepreneur John Insley Blair who lived in Blairstown for a good part of his life. This town of 5750 people is a quiet residential community. Blairstown is known for the Blair Lake, which has facilities for seasonal boating and the 17-feet Blair dam. Blair Academy, which is a private school in this town has a walk through the dam area. Main Street which is just a mile away from the Municipal Court is the town's main thoroughfare. Main Street houses the historic Roy's hall, the venue of the town's theater festival. |
