This town of 10,500 people is located along the banks of the Musconetcong River. It is believed that Hackettstown is named after Samuel Hackett an affluent landowner in the region. Hackettstown is home to the famous Centenary College which is located on Jefferson Street, just a half mile away from the Municipal Court. The town Community Hospital is just a couple of miles away from the Court too. Hackettstown was ranked as one of the best places to live and work by the 'Money' magazine in 2005. Mars Incorporated, the makers of M&M and Milkyway, has it's headquarters in Hackettstown.
