| About the area |
This is the home of Carlsbad Caverns National Park. Enjoy Lake Carlsbad Beach Park on the Pecos River offering picnic tables, swim area, tennis courts and a soccer field. The nearby Living Desert Zoo & Gardens State park is a native wildlife zoo which has more than 40 species of animals and hundreds of species of plants native to the Chihuahuan Desert. Carlsbad Community Theater performs dramatic presentations during a season that runs from October through April and a musical as a fund raiser in July.
The Riverwalk Recreation center is equipped with basketball and racketball courts, a game room , a fitness room, and an activity room. On the grounds there is a skate park and hockey rink.
