Portales Magistrate Court

Potales is the home of Eastern New Mexico University, the 3rd largest university in the state. The university provides entertainment for much of the population in this city with its football, basketball and baseball games and rodeos. The university's performing arts departments provide plays, musicals, symphonies and recitals which are open to the public. The Roosevelt County museum is located on the campus of this university. This museum attempts to provide the visitor with a glimpse of the life of earlier residents of the county. Among the displays are antique furniture, an Edison phonograph, a printing press and a medical instrument collection.
