From mid June through August there are mock bank robberies and shootouts at Frye's Old Town. In the summer enjoy hiking, biking, fishing, jeeping/ATV's, golf, and white water rafting on the Rio Grande. In the Winter Red River is known as "Ski Town of the Southwest". You can snowmobile on a groomed trail to 11,249 foot Greenie Peak. At nightfall on Saturdays there is a torchlight parade. Snowfall averages 18 foot each winter!! DO NOT FEED THE BEARS! They are relocated when caught foraging in trash or near homes. |
