St. Patrick's day is celebrated in this town with an annual three day balloon rally with some super sized cartoon character balloons. The Belen Community center at Eagle park has banquet rooms, walking track, an exercise and fitness center and auditorium. Two great festivals are held on Becker street in this town. The Belen Country and Americana Music festival in August has Country and Americana bands, dancing in the streets, artists, a Mansion Players Theater performance, square dancing, a Custom Motorcycle show and various competitions. The Rio Abajo festival is held in September to celebrate the culture and heritage of the Rio Abajo area. It features bands, a Mansion players presentation, a Classic and Muscle Car show, dance performances and lots of food. |
