| About the area |
Bosque Farms lies near the border with Bernalillo county. The area went though several ownerships until the Federal Resettlement administration took over the property during the New Deal years and divided it into parcels given to families through a lottery system. Because of problems with the soil, these owners turned to diary farming which lasted into the 60's and 70's. This community of about 4,000 is 20 minutes from Albuquerque. It is a blend of suburban, rural and agricultural neighborhoods. The annual Bosque Farms fair is held at the beginning of August at the Bosque Farms Rodeo association facilities. The annual car show is held at this fair. Among the annual events sponsored by the town's Rodeo association are an annual horse show and youth rodeo.
