Comments |
We're told that Justice McDonald served 8 months in a Federal prison in 1982 for selling illegal guns to undercover agents. He was part of group that tried to sell single-shot weapons that looked like ballpoint pens during an undercover sting in Fort Lee, NJ. Seems kind of odd so we're not completely sure about this. |

About the area |
Half of the village is located in the Town of Wappinger, and the other half is in the town of Poughkeepsie, using the Wappinger Creek as the dividing line between the towns within the village. The often scenic US Route 9 and NY State Route 9D passes through the village. Might be a bedroom community for people who work in NYC. Just a hunch? No, I have family that does this. |
Hours of Operation |
Office hours are 9-3pm Mon - Fri. |
Judges |
The Honorable Raymond Chase Jr is the Village Justice, and Charles McDonald was replaced by Judge Vincent Francese as Acting Village Justice (but per comment no longer). |
Prosecutors |
Dutchess County DAs; village officers prosecute their own cases. Apparently Troopers handle their own tickets and will try every case with no deals. We suspect that attorneys may be able to persuade the judge with the right motions on papers, but we could be wrong. |
Type Of Cases |
Local ordinance violations and minor offenses. Speeding tickets on the 9s, of course. |
