Area on the edge of the Adirondack Park, near St. Regis Falls and not too far from Potsdam. Some camping, fishing, boating and hiking. There's the William Rockefeller private park preserve where people cannot hunt but can enjoy the grounds and wildlife viewing. Many bird watchers come to the area to see cardinals, hummingbirds, blue jays, and sparrows. Close to some ski places so bring your recreation gear.
