About the area

The name Haverstraw is Dutch "Haverstroo" for "oat straw" which referred to the grassland along the banks of the Hudson River in the area. The Town of Haverstraw also contains the Villages of Haverstraw and West Haverstraw and several other communities and hamlets. Harriman State Park is found in the Town limits. The Hudson River runs along the east edge of the Town.

Hours of Operation

Sessions: Tuesday mornings at 10 and Wednesdays at 7:30 PM. Office hours are weekdays 8 to 4.
