Comprised of the villages of Catharine, Alpine, Laurence & Odessa, the Town of Catharine is located on the shores of Cayuta Lake, with its public launch for boats & kayaks, as well as fishing. Part of the Finger Lakes Trail, the Connecticut Hill Wildlife Management Area is the largest in NYS, with areas for hunting, fishing, trapping, birdwatching, hiking, snowshoeing, crosscountry skiing - but NO MOTOR VEHICLES (snowmobiles, boats, ATV\'s) or swimming. In 1855, the Ervay family welcomed a gaggle of new kids, making a significant impact on the population.
