| About the area |
NW corner of the county. Ontario is named for the Great Lake that borders the town. Freeman Hopkins was the first person to settle the area in 1806. He had traveled from New England looking for a place to set up a town as he was a Quaker. This area is rich with history and is great tourist attraction. Swimming, boating, and the use of jet ski's are very popular here in the summer.
