| About the area |
Beautiful town on Lake Ontario. The town received its name from the Native American word "Assordus" which means silvery water. The area has a Christmas decorating contest every year where the town businesses get together and decorate their buildings. They are judged by the Chamber of Commerce and the best one gets a prize. The town also has a Christmas tree lighting celebration every year and this year they gave away free teddy bears to all the children who attended.
