The Athens uptown arts market on East State Street is an interesting place to visit for people who are interested in arts and artifacts. The specialty of this market is everything that is sold here is handmade. Everything from a wide range of jewelry, bags, apparel, wooden crafts, paintings and even the food items including fresh produce are sold here. Make sure you carry a hefty wallet here. The market held every first Sunday of every month from April to December. The Audubon Magazine calls it the best farmers market.
