About the area |
The Moravian Missionaries were the first ones to settle in Bedford in the year 1786. It is quite old compared to many other counties in Ohio. In 1918 Bedford also received national attention for the most famous shootout between the merchants and the bank robbers. This fact is so famous until today because receiving National coverage in the early 19th century was rare thing because the news coverage was limited. Bedford is also famous for its people like Elmer Flick, the Baseball player and Archibald M. Willard who is the painter of the famous painting, âThe Spirit of 76â. Bedford celebrates the strawberry festival between June 8th and June 10th of every year. |
