The County of Defiance is the home of the Village of Hicksville, which is irrigated by the Maumee River waters. This territory was primarily explored by Catholic Missionaries and trading men. The religion was brought to the people of Hicksville since its beginning, and actually it is very important for the residents of this community. Itââ¬â¢s not hard to notice this aspect when more than 14 churches guard the faith of the people residing in this territory. Saint Michael's Catholic Church and Hicksville Missionary Church are architectural art pieces.
