Huron is close to the Lake Erie and Ottawa region. The Huron Rotary festival is very popular among the residents and visitors here. It is actually an arts festival held annually on the banks of the Huron River. Another popular festival celebrating arts is the Huron River Fest which is held in summers usually. It features other entertainment like amphitheater, children’s games and activities, and it ends with grand fireworks on the river side. Huron has a special place in history because it was once home to the Huron Indians who lived in the firelands. Even today Huron retains most of the fire lands while some has crept into Lake Erie region.
