Few years after its incorporation, this community became the proud father of Thomas A. Edison, who was born back in the middle 1800's. This village is another puzzle piece of the Sandusky metro area over the Ohio Turnpike. The population has been estimated around 1500 inhabitants. In the past the residents were employed in shipping activities and construction companies; the economic panorama has been changed since the last 20 year, bringing waves of “commerce” and investments.
