About a century ago this territory was part of the coal mining explotation in the area, bringing an intense immigration of workforce and construction of access routes to this community. This community did not continue its progress more than a 100 years after they where the largest coal mining town in Hocking. Today, it has a very unfortunate economic panorama in which almost 1/4 of the population face is classified under the poverty line. This Village is actually home of less than 500 people, attended by the Nelsonville York City School District. |
