About the area |
Miami celebrated 200 years of independence in 2007 and sure had a big role to play through historic times. Located on the banks of Miami River in the southwest of Ohio, it's beautiful and rich in natural beauty. Dotted with many villages and a charming downtown, one can do plenty here without getting bored. There is only one stretch of Ohio which is so rich in its natural beauty and Miami is part of that stretch, called the Connecticut Reserve. While here visit the Miami Valley Rail Trails which takes you on an interesting train tour of the valley. It is just not one trail and there are plenty of trails ranging from longest to shortest. With this name you'd think Miami University would be here, but it ain't. It's in Oxford Ohio instead. Go figure! |
