The main thoroughfare in Powers is First Avenue/North Railroad Avenue (State Hway 242).
About the area
Powers life as a viable economic entity started when a lumberman brought in men and machines and a railroad to log the surrounding forests. Now many of its residents commute to work in surrounding areas. Probably the oldest pioneer home in the region is the historic Wagner House which is adjacent to a railroad museum. During the 4th of July, Powers holds its big event of the year, White Cedar Days. Powers County park, located in the Northwest corner of Powers, has campsites and RV sites with electrical and water hookups.
