| About the area |
Prineville was the first town incorporated in Central Oregon. Its A. R. Bowman Museum is housed in the historic Crook County Bank Building. The museum features displays of items representative of Crook County's railroad, ranching and timber past in its Hall of History. Prineville Reservoir State Park provides the opportunity for year round boating and fishing. Ochoco Lake State Park, West of Prineville has campsites with a picnic tables and a fire ring with water and restrooms nearby. The park also features a hiker/biker camp.
