Easy to get to Interstate Highway 5 from anywhere in Roseburg, since it twists its way through the city. |

About the area |
Around the middle of the 19th century the The Applegate Trail was built (along present day Main Street) and made its way through Roseburg and it became a stopping place for travelers to the Western valleys of Oregon. A good place to recall the history is the Douglas County Museum of History and Natural History located about one mile South of Roseburg. The museum has a large natural history collection on display and its thousands of historical items on display tell the ancient and contemporary stories of the Umpqua River Valley. Two of the famous Land of Umpqua covered bridges can be found in Roseburg. |
