Sutherlin is the place where all the hunters and anglers come to find the best game and fishing. There are deer, Roosevelt and Rocky Mountain Elk, black bear, cougar, bob cat, grey and red fox and wild birds galore. There are two dams, three creeks and a large stocked log pond within a 5 minute drive from the center of the city.If you are going to taste some of that game try adding a bottle or two from the local wineries. Cooper Creek Reservoir located next to Sutherlin is a recreational area which offers opportunities for fishing and boating and swimming facilities, two dock areas, water skiing, jet skiing and picnic areas.
