| About the area |
Canyon city is the county seat of Grant county but has a population of less than 600. The Grant County Regional Airport, which is open to the public, lies a few miles to the Northwest of Canyon City. The airport is owned by Grant county and with runways over 5000 feet and over 4400 feet in length as well as well paved asphalt surfaces, it can handle small jet aircraft. Its lighting system utilizes variable intensity runway lights and high intensity strobes. If you are the market for a vintage horse drawn vehicle; come to Canyon City and visit the Ox Bow Trade company. They also have a museum which displays old sleighs and surreys as well the accessories that go with these vehicles. |
