About the area

Burns is the county seat of Harney County and was named for the Scottish poet Robert Burns. Delintment Lake and Idlewild Campground are two popular recreation sites located to the North of Burns. The wild horse still roams free in the area and in much of Harney County can be seen to the West of Burns on the range in many places on and around Steens Mountain.
