Hood River has a moderately sized population with over 6800 people living in an area of approximately 2 square mules. Bird watchers will certainly come to Hood River for a walk along the Oregon Cascades Birding Trail. Existing roads, pulloffs, parking areas, and walking trails form a network of observation sites and birding experiences to observe birds in their natural habitats. Wildlife also inhabit portions of the trail. The Hood River hotel, originally built at the begining of the 20th century and partially demolished, has recently been restored with modern facilities while retaining many of the features of the original hotel. |
