| About the area |
Just as the city owes its location to its beginning as a transportation junction for East and West railroad lines; it has become the junction for the two main branches of the Pacific Highway in the Willamette Valley. With its location on OR 99; Juction City is between Oregon State University in Corvallis and University of Oregon in Eugene. In celebration of their Scandinavian heritage, the citizens of Junction each year, in August, hold a four day Scandinavian festival and transform the downtown area into a charming old world town. The Scandinavian spirit is displayed by authentic cultural entertainment and activities representative of Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden, and Iceland.
