Not too many people live in Brownsville; only about 1700. But there is a lot of history around them. Buildings from the 1880's to 1920's still remain in downtown Brownsville with many historic houses dating back to the 1850's. A beautiful 26-acre park; Pioneer Park which is bordered on two sides by the Calapooia River has been in use since the 1840's. The park includes a covered amphitheatre with seating for 400 people. The annual Willamette Country Music Festival is held in August and not only features headline artists but also offers overnight RV and tent camping to ticket holders and a variety of food & beverage vendors and business and clothing vendors. To accomodate every member of the family there is a Family Fun Zone with mechanical bull rides, a climbing wall and inflatible bounce houses & slides.
