About the area |
Sweet Home started life as a logging town. Foster Reservoir, a popular boating destination, can be found East of Sweet Home on US Highway 20. This resrvoir came into being with the construction of Foster Dam on the South Santiam River. The reservoir is over three miles in length providing ample room for anglers, who can fish for stocked rainbow trout, kokanee and bass; and for waterskiers and other water activities. To enjoy a Country music show be sure to attend the Oregon Jamboree at the end of JUly. In addition to headline entertainment this festival welcomes RV and tent camping. |
