About the area |
The Morrow County Courthouse was constructed at the beginning of the 20th century. It replaced the original courthouse, a two-story wood framed structure. A flash flood in the early 20th century had a devastating effect on Heppner and many of its citizens perished. The Morrow County museum displays items from 1860 and on. The museum has a collection of hundreds of photographs depicting the development of Morrow county. Morrow County Agriculture museum features outdoor exhibits with live demonstrations in the areas of farming, ranching, and forestry. Willow Creek Lake is southeast of Heppner and with its a concrete boat launch and boat docks offers a great opportunity to fish for Rainbow Trout as well as for swimming, picnicking, or water-skiing. |
