About the area |
In the first part of the 1800's, Indian Tribes came to the area now known as Falls City. In the mid 1800's settlers started coming to the area. The first formal Post Office Building was dedicated in Falls City in the last part of the 19th century . About this time land on the South side of the Luckiamute Falls river was plotted and dedicated as a city. Soon afterward a group of enterprising business men recorded another plat of a development on the North side of the Luckiamute River thus completing the development of the two halves of the city. About three miles west of Falls City you will find Gerlinger County Park. located on the Little Luckiamute River. River access for various recreational activities is available in the park.
