About the area

The City of Monmouth was founded in the 1850's. There are over 9,500 residents and they are with electrical power from the city's own electric distribution system. Western Oregon University, a four year college is located on the West side of Monmouth. It offers courses in Liberal Arts, Sciences and Education leading to the BA, BS and BFA degrees as well as Graduate studies and has more than 5000 students. If the students misbehave, they might make a trip to the Monmouth Court.
